May 31, 2003 meeting

The attendees of our May meeting cleaned out their stashes and brought unwanted rug hooking items for a mystery swap. We put our items in a brown paper grocery bag with the top stapled shut so that no one knew what was in the bags. We all drew numbers and took turns choosing either a bag on the table or swapping (stealing) from someone who had already drawn. At the end, the person who drew the number “one” was allowed to either keep what they had or steal from anyone in the room! The trading became very lively as coveted items passed through many hands. We all decided that we would like to do a mystery swap again in the future. “One hooker’s trash is another hooker’s treasure!”
